We were pleasantly surprised by the value we got for our money at the Colliery Cottage in Durham. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and felt just like a home away from home. The location was great, with a dog walk just across the road, and it was only a short journey to Durham university. The staff, especially Clare the host, were incredibly welcoming and even put up Christmas decorations and a tree in the cottage. It was the perfect cozy and comfortable stay.

The only slight downside was the limited bus service, which made it challenging to visit Durham town center. However, we made the most of our stay, venturing to the local pub and enjoying the tranquility of the village. we had an excellent experience at Colliery Cottage and would highly recommend it to others.

It was also conveniently located near Durham and other nearby villages, making it easy to explore the area.

The only issue we had was with the security light at the back of the cottage, which kept turning on and off during the night and disturbed our sleep. It would have been better if the light was more consistent and didn't cause any disruption.

This house has everything we needed, comfy beds, a fab shower, and lovely views of horses. Clare was wonderful to deal with and really accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
